Religious Education

At Broadway Infant School we work with the South Gloucestershire SACRE agreed syllabus. We aim to teach children about a range of religions and non-religious world views in a variety of ways, ensuring children are beginning to build the skills and knowledge to understand the beliefs of others in today’s diverse and ever-changing world.

We aim to use a range of strategies to think and consider the questions RE raises eg. through art, music, drama and dance as well as through discussion and more formal writing opportunities. While planning RE lessons, we aim to include purposeful thinking and reflection time that will lead to deeper learning.

Children build a bigger picture of the world around them, and begin to make links with people in the wider the community. They develop an understanding of how families worship and celebrate beyond their own experiences. Our challenge is to provide children in our local community with a more diverse experience.
